From the minute you cross the historic Jericho Covered Bridge, circa 1865, this treasure of a home takes your breath away. Built in 1771 and named "Jubilee," this signature property sits on a high bank overlooking the Little Gunpowder Falls River. A former millwright's residence, it's one of the last vestiges of a colonial Quaker mill town and is listed as a Baltimore County landmark property. Fully restored with the latest systems, the home also preserves many of the original features, including hardwood floors (some stenciled), deep window wells, three fireplaces, beamed ceilings, hewn stone and stucco walls, and a curving interior stairhall. Specimen plantings adorn the half-acre lot, and the large rear terrace overlooks a sturdy stone grilling station and the river beyond, which is fronted on the opposite bank by preserved parkland and hiking/horse-riding trails, so the views will never be spoiled. All this, and only about 45 minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor. There is also easy access to trains to Washington, Philadelphia, and New York. Once you see it, you'll understand why the original builders called it "Jubilee"--it really is a home to be enjoyed and celebrated!
